When will we receive detailed information on speed dating, matchmaking and the pitch stage?
Detailed briefings on Speed Dating, Matchmaking and the Pitch Stage, with the respective dates, will be sent by e-mail at least 1 week before the event (Briefing #2).
What is Speed Dating?
The Speed Dating includes 4 one-on-one meetings, 10 minutes each, in a segment that meets your needs – here we assign you based on your information in the Data Drop questionnaire. The mentors all come from the SAME CATEGORY.
The categories are:
- Retail
- Hospitality, Wholesale & Foodservice
- Investment
If your needs change after completing the questionnaire, it is your responsibility to let us know. For this purpose, you will receive a summary of your speed dating/matchmaking preferences by e-mail after completing the data drop questionnaire.
What is a Matchmaking?
Matchmaking is a one-to-one meeting lasting 15 minutes with a decision-maker from our network. We will assign you a decision-maker according to the information you provide in the data drop questionnaire. If your needs change after completing the questionnaire, it is your responsibility to let us know. For this purpose, you will receive a summary of your speed dating/matchmaking preferences by e-mail after completing the Data Drop questionnaire.
Whats the difference between Speed Dating and Matchmaking?
In a Speed Dating session, you will have FOUR 10-minute interviews with four different mentors. These all come from the same category to which you are assigned on the basis of your details in the Data Drop questionnaire.
During Matchmaking, you will receive ONE 15-minute interview with a mentor. When choosing a mentor, we will take into account your stated needs from the Data Drop questionnaire.
What is the Pitch Stage?
On the pitch stage, you will have the opportunity to present your product live on stage, typically in front of 3 judges.
How does the Pitch work?
- You will get a slot on the pitch stage (Hall 2). We will inform you of the exact time in advance.
- Please report to the Pitch Desk next to the Pitch Stage 10 minutes before your slot.
- You will be asked to go on stage for your slot (only one person is allowed on stage).
- There is usually a three-person jury on stage.
- You now have 4 minutes to pitch your product.
- The jury will then have 3 minutes to ask you questions (including answers).
- No presentations can be shown. We will present you with your logo and product image on a screen, which you have submitted via our Data Drop questionnaire.
- You can offer samples of your product for tasting, but you must provide your own dishes, organize yourself and leave no dishes/garbage behind.
- The pitch stage is a silent stage.
What is a Silent Stage?
Silent Stage means that the audience follows the stage program exclusively on headphones. Actors on stage speak into microphones and can only hear themselves quietly.
What happens if I’m late for my Pitch?
If you do not show up on time, you will lose your slot and can’t receive the service.
